Our Executive Director

Theandelia Purnell is the Executive Director of Reese Angels4. NFP DBA MOMS28. NFP, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting mothers, youth, and families impacted by gun violence and trauma. As the daughter of the late Bertha Purnell and sister of the late Maurice Purnell Sr, she continues to honor and expand her family’s legacy by transforming personal loss into a lifelong mission of healing, advocacy, and community restoration.

Through her leadership, she merged MOMS28 as a DBA under her established nonprofit, Reese Angels4, Inc., originally created to support children affected by the loss of her brother and other families experiencing similar tragedy. Today, she leads the organization in providing trauma-informed care, mentorship, and supportive services that empower individuals to heal and rebuild their lives.

Theandelia brings extensive professional experience in financial coordination, student support services, and client care, along with a strong background in collections, financial aid advising, and program management. She is known for her compassion, leadership, and commitment to helping individuals navigate complex systems with dignity and support.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Associate ’s-level foundation), and she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Human Resources to further strengthen her impact in trauma-informed and community-based care.

Driven by purpose and legacy, Theandelia is committed to transforming grief into purpose and ensuring that families affected by violence receive the support, healing, and hope they deserve.
